Baseball

Spring is Baseball.

Great game, even though it was 95 degrees.
The scorekeepers did a superb job getting those numbers in
place and correct!!

It's Fowl!

Well...The duck and the chicks are growing. Daisy the duck has a very cute personality and loves
to follow people. The chicks...peep a lot. They are very soft and the mother chicken watches over them very intently. We were hoping that the mommy chicken would take care of the baby duck..but she only has eyes for her chicks. Such is the life in the pecking order.

You Wanna Sack With That??

Field day at school was always my favorite...and especially having a sack race.
Trying to have two or three kids navigate moving in a sack to the finish line
is quite fun to watch.
Hopping....walking....jumping...some even ended up dragging the sack!

New Chicks

Today we had two new additions to Creeping Cedar!
Our Momma Chicken successfully hatched two baby chicks.
They are both black and very cute.
They have moved to their new home..a bucket in the chicken house with
a heat lamp.
Name choices so far.....Henry and Mudge. Pinky. Harley (for the one in the
family who really wants to own a Harley!) Chocolate.
Any suggestions are taken.

Zoo

There is always time to pose on an animal statue while touring the zoo.
Even if the temperature is a balmy 40 and the wind won't stop!
Brrrrrr.....

Easter Surprise

Just in time for Easter. Along came Daisy! or Bill! (get it??)
This little fellow is too cute.
He spent most of the afternoon
in the arms of his surrogate parent.
Still wondering how the chickens and guineas will
like this little guy.

Playing with the camera!

Clearing Out

We've been cutting down some trees!
The view is much better..but this is hard work!
We have decided that we would not have survived
on the frontier.

Mommy to Be??

This girl is one anxious Mom. She stayed on her wooden egg for a week
before we put three fertilized eggs underneath! She has been a very
attentive mommy bird. Even with two little birds making a nest
in the chicken house right above her.
