Playing a the Lake

We were able to visit a nearby lake and enjoy kayaking, swimming and fishing...although...no luck with the fish :(

Working

Murphy enjoyed working outside and digging in the dirt.
There was even a Murphy footprint on my pants!

Party Animals

This is what happens to a pinata after the candy has been swiped!

Birthday Morning

Ahhhhh....

Hiding

Objects in picture are smaller than they appear.

Bed Making

This needed to have a picture..since it is the best
job of bed-making EVER!

Car Ride

We have been dog-sitting this week...little Murphy.
(She is a girl, just with a boy name)
We discovered that it is always a surprise when
she rides in the car!
Sometimes she made it the whole ride...sometimes,
her stomach just couldn't handle the twists and turns
any longer. Hence the water proof pad we placed underneath
her. Just for the record..she lost her breakfast not on the pad, but
on the seat!!

Demolition

So this used to be a dorm at UVA. We were fortunate to stop by and see the wrecking ball take some of the building down. First time to see a wrecking ball in action. Great site.

Working at the Car Wash

We love the car wash! All the bubbles, the power sprayer, the big soapy brush....what better way to spend an hour?!

Hole in the Head

Now this guy has a bad headache.
This was in the exhibit at the
Smithsonian about Jamestown.
This poor guy died from an
obvious gunshot to the head.

Evolution

May be we are descendants of the apes????

Wildlife

Scenes of the wildlife in Arizona.
The quail was enticed up to
the porch with a granola bar!
The little bird is eating atop the
cactus...very cool.
The havalina was hanging
out in the golf course.
(yes, this is the sceond picture
of this wild pig...but he is
just so WILD)

Ick

Not quite sure that this is a happy experience.

Morning Routine

Reading the morning paper.

'Tis the Age

The first tooth to come out!
It definately had a little help with the
one behind it pushing it's way toward the
front.
The only good thing about losing a
tooth is the visit from The Tooth Fairy!

At the Park

Always fun to hang out at the park!!
Especially with best friends and cousins!

Fishing...again

Fishing, again!
Four hours of casting, baiting and waiting.
There were fish caught....just very small fish.
No fish for dinner that night.

Arizona

Not quite sure where the month of June went!
Here it is July 4th and I have been negligent about
blogging.
I will try to get better this month.
So I will begin with the trip to Arizona.
The scenery was incredible and the weather
was beautiful.
Lots of cactus, havelina's (wild pigs), coyotes (although
couldn't get a picture of one), quail and bunnies!

Then there were two

What are these little birds doing??
Having a dust bath.
In their own private bucket.
They have been quarantined to their own side
of the chicken yard during the day, and their
own bucket at night.
Why?
Because there were three little chickies...now
there are two.
Hence the pecking order.
We are trying to save these little ones until
they get a wee bit bigger...may be then they can defend
themselves against big guineas!

End to Softball

End of Softball as well.
This was a great team that really learned
about the game and had fun playing together.
Everyone got a trophy too!

Graduation

End of the year brought an end to elementary school.
Off to middle school.

Our Favorite Teacher

There is nothing better than having a great teacher.
When this graduating 5th grader cried in PE while in
Kindergarten, this teacher joked and laughed to make her
feel more comfortable.
It has been a special bond between these two ever since.

End of Girl Scouts

There was a play in Girl Scouts! All about mothers over time.
This particular mother was a cave mother!

Tis the end of school

At the end of the school there are always parties, plays, awards and such.
This little guy had a sing-a-long with all the K1 classes.

New Haircuts

New haircuts are always exciting..and a chance for a picture.
One good picture, One silly picture!

More Chickens

Well, we have added to our chicken family.
A Rhode Island Red and a Speckled Sussex are
our bigger additions.
The little peepers are one little black Cockoo Moran
and two Americanas.
Unfortunely, the pecking order is in full bloom in the
chicken house..and some are getting pecked more than others.
Guess it is the same as siblings...the pecking just goes down the
line.
